Area manager (South Germany)

We are looking for a area manager for the GERMAN-speaking markets; in particular, the resource will manage the following Länder: Baden-Württemberg and Bayern. The person will independently perform all commercial and organisational activities leading to sales. Customer acquisition will also be part of this job.

  • Main responsibilities and activities:

    • identifying, establishing and consolidating business relationships with importers and distributors within the assigned market;
    • developing the customer portfolio;
    • setting sales targets for each customer;
    • being responsible for drawing up the annual sales budget for his/her area of competence;
    • supporting customers in promotion activities;
    • identifying appropriate initiatives to improve brand awareness in their markets;
    • being responsible for evaluating customer results by market segment and, if necessary, implementing corrective actions;
    • explore the potential of assigned markets;
    • monitor competitors' actions;
    • providing basic technical and commercial support for customer requests;
    • reporting to ownership on visits, contacts, offers and any other important information;
    • attend trade fairs;
    • visiting trade fairs for technology updates.
  • Skills and experience:

    • live in Germany or be willing to relocate to the region;
    • excellent knowledge of the German language (mother tongue);
    • at least 5 years of professional experience, of which at least 2 years in the role of Area Manager in the agricultural and/or gardening sector;
    • excellent knowledge of English or Italian (C1 or C2 level);
    • strong results orientation;
    • strong interpersonal and communication skills;
    • strong problem-solving skills;
    • important team-building and collaboration skills.
